PAWS fundraiser

Pet Valu in Summerside has selected Keeping Cats Homed to be the recipient of all funds raised during the month of April.  There are several events in the planning stages and everything should be finalized and will be announced in the very near future however we are looking for some volunteers to help makes these events a success.

April 8th we are planning a bake sale and we are currently looking for some people to bake items for the sale.  We are looking for baked goods such as bread, cookies, fudge, squares etc. along with any pet treats such as dog and cat treats.  All items must be packaged.  They can be wrapped in single servings or by the half dozen etc.  If you are unable to package these items we would need the items the night before so our volunteers can package all items.  If you are able to bake something please send us a message asap so we can plan ahead.

April 22nd is Pet Valu’s National Adoption weekend and we are planning a mini carnival that day.  There will be old fashioned carnival type activities with all proceeds to KCH.  We will need some volunteers to run each station.  This may be a great opportunity for any young people who would like to help out KCH but don’t bake and can’t foster.  It would likely be a commitment of about 5 hours from approx 11am to 4pm but those hours are not set yet.  At this point we are just trying to round up some young, energetic volunteers for this event.  Please message us if you are able to help.

We are very excited to work with the staff at Pet Valu to make this a fun and successful month and help us to continue to help the kitties.

Joint KCH/Spay Aid Fundraiser

Keeping Cats Homed and Spay Aid PEI are hosting a joint fundraiser from April 28 to May 5, 2017 for the benefit of both groups. This fundraiser will be an online silent auction using this group. The funds raised will go to help both groups continue their efforts to ensure the safety and health of pets on PEI.

Keeping Cats Homed is a not for profit group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing, ensuring health, and fostering kittens/cats and placing them in loving forever homes.

Spay Aid PEI is a not for profit group of volunteers that administers a low cost spay/neuter program for the companion animals of low-income families on PEI.

Both groups seek to reduce animal overpopulation and help animals find or remain in safe, loving homes.

The auction will be online using the “Keeping Cats Homed Silent Auction” group on Facebook.  Please join now to be ready for when the auction goes live and share with all of your friends.

Keeping Cats Homed is very exciting to work with Spay Aid PEI on this event.

New Foster Homes Needed

Keeping Cats Homed will be starting to recruit for new fosters for the upcoming kitten season.  If you think fostering might be something you are interested in doing or if you would like more information please complete the foster agreement on the forms page and scan and email to us or contact us and we would be happy to answer any questions you have about how our fostering program works.  If you have already submitted an application we will be in contact with you over the next couple of weeks to discuss further.  KCH provides everything required to foster including all supplies, litter box and litter, bedding, food dishes and food, toys and we cover all veterinary costs.  We do have a few requirements for fosters which is that all of your resident cats are up to date on their vaccines to protect them and any fosters you take in.  You must have a safe environment for any fosters and have experience with cats/kittens and lots of love and attention to give.  Fostering is a wonderful way to give back and can be so much fun.  Imagine a revolving door of kittens.  🙂  We hope to hear from you soon.
